Two mindset shifts to get back on track…
Can we all agree that trying to be perfect is exhausting? 🙃

Well, one of the biggest myths out there is that you have to get everything right to make progress.

You know how it goes…

If you miss one workout or splurge a little too much, you feel like you’ve blown it, so you give up entirely. Sound familiar?

But here’s the truth: True success isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being consistent, even when things aren’t ideal.

You have two choices. You can:
  • Crush one “perfect” week of workouts and meal prep, then burn out and do nothing for the next three.
  • OR show up at 80% (or more!) every week for months, even when life throws you curveballs.
Which one do you think gets better results?

Spoiler: It’s the second one.

Here are two POWERFUL strategies to rewire your mindset for consistency:

1. Celebrate “Non-Zero” Days.
This concept comes from the idea that any effort is better than none. Walk for 10 minutes? Do a few push-ups? Add a side of veggies to your dinner? It’s a win. The goal is to avoid having a day where you do nothing for your goals.
  • Some of my clients have a ‘Non-Zero Jar’ where they put in a quarter every day they do something for their health—no matter how small.
2. Use the 2-Minute Rule.
On days when motivation is low, tell yourself you only need to do two minutes. Just two! That’s usually enough to get you started and of course, you’ll likely want to keep going!  But even if you do stop, you’ve still kept the habit alive. (Plus it’ll count as a non-zero day 😉)
  • One of my clients uses this trick with meal prep. She tells herself she’ll just chop veggies for two minutes. Most of the time, she ends up prepping everything she planned for.
Perfection gets you stuck. Consistency keeps you moving forward.

It’s not about being perfect — it’s about showing up, over and over again.

Here’s to progress, not perfection!

P.S. Accountability makes all the difference when it comes to staying consistent. I have 3 spots available for my online concierge personal training/ coaching, the perfect starting point to build sustainable habits without feeling overwhelmed.

Meet Colleen Riddle

I spent much of my life trying to figure out where I fit.

Growing up as the youngest of six, so much younger than my brothers and sisters, I was always just ‘little Colleen’ — tagging along, in the room but not really part of the conversation. My opinion didn’t carry much weight when everyone older had already decided. It wasn’t unkind — it was just the math of being the baby of a big family. But somewhere in all that tagging along, I started believing that belonging was something you had to earn, or wait for, or hope someone remembered to include you in.

That feeling followed me into adulthood more than I realized. Through different seasons of life, careers, challenges, and reinventions, I kept chasing the same thing: a place where my voice actually mattered.

It took years of personal growth to understand how deeply that search had shaped me — and to realize that the thing I’d been looking for my whole life was exactly what I was meant to help others find.
